In this video installation, the artist is inspired by the concept of liminal space and related social events. The artist utilized the metaphor of liminal space to illustrate her emotion and personal comments on the Shanghai lockdown with an abstract, surreal, and absurd style. The artist tried to apply high contrast color and uncanny elements like the 3D eyeball and artificial conversation into the recreation of the virtual liminal space in the video and would like to invite audiences to feel the atmosphere.

As for definition, liminal space is the physical space as a transition between one destination and the next, in which individuals may feel nostalgia, insecurity, and unknowingness. Liminal space also can be emotionally and metaphorically. It is believed that the artist would like to create a virtual liminal space as people surf on the Internet to reveal the artist's self-identity in the collectivist political system. China's Internet censorship system silences the voices of the masses, who have no way to get answers but are trapped in a threshold space. This normality inspired the artist to create this video.

In the video, the first-person perspective explores the virtual liminal space on the Internet and would like to seek the answer to the epidemic: freedom. With the dialogue with the virtual female voice, "I" gradually feels powerless because it seems that the so-called endpoint or answer does not exist, which is why 404 Not Found is displayed at the end of the film.

As for the installation part, the artist utilized an old TELEVISION as a screen to play the video, paired with a holographic projection fan and two speakers. The audience can sit in the darkroom to watch while feeling the emotional liminal space in the video; they can also be psychologically absorbed and feel the physical liminal space where the audience is.
